Russian-led forces mounted 21 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the last day.

"No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported over the past day. According to intelligence reports, four occupiers were killed and another six were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 2, 2018.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms, attacking the defenders of the towns of Zolote and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Luhanske, Zaitseve, Pisky, Novomykhailivka, Novotroyitske, Starohnativka, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.

In addition, the enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars to shell the Ukrainian positions near Vodiane. The Ukrainian fortified positions near Luhanske were also attacked from 82mm mortars. Moreover, the defenders of Luhanske came under fire from weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles.

It is reported that the enemy launched 31 artillery shells and 16 mortar shells on Vodiane. At the same time, the shelling targeted the village's residential sector rather that the Ukrainian military positions. The consequences of the shelling are being specified by officials of the Ukrainian side to the JCCC, together with the OSCE SMM.

"Since Tuesday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted three attacks on the Ukrainian positions. The Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Lebedynske came under fire from grenade launchers and small arms, while those in Krymske were attacked with the use of grenade launchers," reads the report.
