MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. The situation in Ukraine was discussed during the visit of US National Security Advisor John Bolton to Moscow, and there is no basis for covnergence yet, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told Channel One on Wednesday.

"I can't retell the conversations, especially conversations at this level, but I assure you that Ukraine was discussed [during Bolton's visit]. The discussion was very uneasy, our positions are radically differ ent on many issues. I do not feel that we have some convergence on this topic, or that there is some basis for gradual deepening of mutual understading. This is rather a negative moment," Ryabkov said.

US National Security Advisor John Bolton visited Moscow on November 21-23. He held meetings with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Presidential Aide on Foreign Policy Yury Ushakov.
