Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 18 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action and another four as wounded in action.

"One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another four were wounded in the past day. According to intelligence reports, three occupiers were killed and another four were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Ky iv time on November 5, 2018.

The Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from mortars of various caliber, weapons of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms as they were attacking the defenders of the towns of Zolote and Avdiyivka. The following villages also came under enemy fire: Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Novotroyitske, Pavlopil, Vodiane, Hnutove, and Lebedynske.

The enemy resorted to 120mm mortars twice and 82mm mortars thrice to shell the Ukrainian positions near Zolote. The Ukrainian fortified positions near Novotoshkivske, Avdiyivka, Pavlopil, Vodiane, Hnutove, and Lebedynske also came under mortar fire.

"Since Monday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted two attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Pavlopil and Hnutove. No heavy weapons have been used. No Ukrainian army casualties have been reported since the start of the day," the update said.
